Behind this powerful regime stood the ideology of one of ancient China's most influential philosophers— Han Feizi , a master of Legalism. Yet, in a historical twist, Han Feizi was executed by the very state that later implemented his ideas, while his rival and fellow student Li Si became the executor of those doctrines.
